The Charity Fund was set up by Experian people, but as a separate charity that is independent of Experian.
The Charity Fund has a board of at least 5 unpaid Trustees, some of whom must not be employed by Experian. The Experian staff on the board act in a personal, voluntary, capacity and not in their capacity as Experian employees. The day-to-day operation of the Charity Fund is performed by staff provided to the Charity Fund by Experian, and the Charity Fund holds its meetings in Experian offices. This means that the Charity Fund has minimal operating costs.
All the charitable fundraising from Experian staff in house is donated to the Charity Fund. At least every quarter the Trustees meet to review the applications received from small organisations and to grant awards to successful applicants.
